The highest level of safety can only be achieved in an ideal test environment and with returning test periods under real conditions.This is the only way to develop protective systems with uncompromising safety.

TRUMER has multiple modern research and development facilities where TRUMER products and ISOSTOP barriers are tested and certifi ed for their reliability using the latest state-of-the-art technology.

In collaboration with leading scientists, engineers and with the involvement of end customers and construction companies, new products are developed and existing products are optimized.

In our development work, we use the latest devices, instrumentation and measurement methods in order to work at the cutting edge of science and technology or to redefine it. To develop, test and certify our technical protection systems, TRUMER uses the most modern inclined cable car system in the world at the Styrian Erzberg in Austria.

With the additional use of a vertical testing system in Trentino, Italy, special situations can also be examined in 1:1 field tests and new knowledge can be obtained. Through multiple tests, TRUMER guarantees maximum protection for diff erent impact scenarios.

Vertical Test Site

Due to the impact precision of the free-falling test block, the vertical test is particularly useful for basic research and component development. In test series with precise test impacts, the performance characteristics of a barrier can be determined with the greatest possible reproducibility.


Based on the numerous 1:1 development and approval tests we have carried out, TRUMER creates complex numerical models of barriers using the FARO simulation software. These calibrated simulations are used as a basis for further technical developments and for adapting our barriers to different static and dynamic additional requirements.

Inclined Test Site

Tests carried out at inclined test sites produce realistic impacts that reflect the effects of a natural rockfall. Such testing makes it easy to assess the system and the sequence of events. The inclined test therefore enables direct statements to be made about the deformation behavior and the forces that actually occur in the barrier.


For project-specific requirements such as snow loads, rock wall connections or greater construction heights, the functionality of the barrier is proven and the components are individually dimensioned.

With our calculation tool, we support engineers, planners and customers with the planning of rockfall protection fences. The tool simplifies the dimensioning process in accordance with the Austrian ONR 24810. We are also able to support our customers in the field of slope and embankment protection with our in-house calculation program.
