Area of Application

The TS-100-MOBIL is a mobile, low energy rockfall catchment fence that utilizes a fixed-post and which is attached to New Jersey style concrete barriers. It has been 1:1 scale tested according to ETAG 27/EAD guidelines for rockfall and EN 1317 for vehicle restraint systems.

Rope Guidances

The upper, middle and lower bearing ropes are led through a shackle attached to the post head and foot. This allows for quick installation and simple maintenance.

Foundation Block

The substructure of the system consists of DELTABLOC concrete elements that require no anchoring. The blocks use ZERO DEBRIS CONCRETE to reduce splintering during impacts. This is extremely important for rockfall events where detached pieces of concrete can become projectiles themselves and which can have severe consequences.

Block Link

Adjacent concrete elements are linked together by inserting a link or post into the coupling slot. Slots on either side of the block are connected with steel tension bars and so provides a continuous steel connection along the system’s entire length.

Base Plate

Posts are inserted into the coupling slots and require no anchors or bolts. The result is a cost efficient installation and, as well as removal, of the system. In addition, replacement of posts can be carried out with minimal downtime of the system should a post exchange be required.

Lateral Anchorage

The lateral anchoring is completed with thimbles and shackles on every rope for a technically correct connection and ease of maintenance. There are no drilled anchors and so the system is 100% effective upon installation of the superstructure. This allows for rapid deployment for time sensitive projects.

High Performance Netting

The primary net material used in this system is called the High Performance Netting. It is a high tensile strength mesh suitable for low energy dynamic impacts which helps limit the elongation of the system. The small mesh opening is also ideal for sites with high frequency events of small debris. It is the same mesh used for slope retention systems.
